What to bring on the Day
Once your appointment has been booked, please ensure you bring the following to your consultation:
- Your referral letter (if it has not already been provided to our clinic)
- Your current Medicare card details
- Any relevant blood test results, imaging reports, or photographs that may assist the dermatologist in assessing and diagnosing your condition
Providing this information at your appointment will help ensure a comprehensive assessment and facilitate the best possible care.

New & Review Hair Loss Appointments
Sinclair Dermatology uses hair loss photography as a core diagnostic tool to visually evaluate hair density, track shedding patterns, and monitor your response to medical treatments. Professor Rod Sinclair, founder of the clinic, pioneered the internationally recognised Sinclair Scale—a visual grading system that measures the severity of female pattern hair loss and daily shedding.
- Hair Photos will be taken at each appointment with our photographer
- Ensure hair is clean and easy to handle as middle parting is required.
Vectra Appointments
Full body scan with Vectra WB360
For patients at higher risk or those with many moles, a full body scan can provide an even more detailed picture.
Using the Vectra WB360 (the world’s most advanced 3D imaging system), we capture high-resolution images of your entire skin surface in seconds. This technology allows us to:
- Create a complete baseline record of your moles and skin spots
- Detect even the smallest changes in your skin over time
- Reduce unnecessary biopsies by tracking changes accurately.
This service is recommended for patients who require long-term mole mapping and advanced monitoring.
How to Prepare for your Vectra Appointment
- Please ensure all make is removed especially foundation cream, this will ensure lesions will be visible and picked up by the Vectra Machine
- A Consent form will be issued on arrival
- Underwear can be left on if you prefer alternatively disposable underwear can be provided.
- NB - The VECTRA 3D system works by using a series of high-resolution digital cameras to take standard photographs from multiple angles, which the software then stitches together into a 3D avatar. Because it is just advanced flash photography, it has key advantages over other medical scans: [1, 2]
- No Radiation: The system does not use ionizing radiation (like an X-ray or CT scan), so it poses no harm to a developing baby.
- No Magnetic Fields: The device does not use the strong magnets or radiofrequency waves found in MRIs, meaning there is zero risk of electromagnetic interference with your pacemaker.
